Durham, NC Turns Out [1]

Durham, NC, Bull City, does not really have a great public space for a rally. No large downtown park, no large City Hall square. But the crowd keeps growing. The most recent Indivisible Rally overflowed the small square where it has always been held. Realizing that the rally was too big for sidewalks, the police department closed streets and routed the march, keeping everything calm and safe. Look at the picture. I doubt any 3 blocks in DC will see as many people. I was in the middle of the march. As many people were coming behind. I think at least 5,000, maybe many more. And this was only one city in North Carolina, not the biggest. Rallies were everywhere. It feels good. We are building the numbers and the commitment, and I expect organization to grow as well. Support it.
I regret that the celebration of our army has been subverted by the fascist ambitions of one man. Their service deserves recognition, not exploitation. Nevertheless, I just hope someone attends who will take names, a list of the elected Democrats who attend. They deserve a primary opponent. I still trust the army to deal with any officers who have been too enthusiastic about this corruption.
