Breaking: Arrest made in connection with “credible threat” made against Texas state legislators [1]

One person was taken into custody Saturday in connection with a “credible threat” made towards Texas state legislators planning to attend the day’s protest at the State Capitol in Austin, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
A trooper with the Department of Public Safety arrested the person after a traffic stop in La Grange, Texas. “Currently, there is no additional active threat,” the department said.
The arrested person’s name and details about any charges were not immediately released.

Reaction from Texas lawmakers: A group of 44 Texas state House Democrats signed a letter asking Gov. Greg Abbott and the DPS director what steps they will take to protect elected officials in Texas in light of the threat and Saturday’s assassination in Minnesota of a lawmaker there.
