Thunderstorms are predicted for DC in Saturday, so Trump’s parade might have to be cancelled or at least postponed, according to The Times.

President Trump’s plans to hold a military parade in Washington on his 79th birthday this Saturday have been put in doubt by a thunderstorm warning.

Steve Warren, chief spokesman of the US army, which is celebrating its 250th anniversary, told The Times: “Rain won’t stop us, the tanks don’t melt, but if there’s lightning then that puts the crowd at risk … they will disperse the crowd and even cancel or postpone the parade. It will depend on the president, too, when he’s available.”

The army has planned a day of festivities in Washington to celebrate the anniversary, culminating in a parade at 6.30pm featuring 6,600 soldiers, dozens of tanks and an astronaut tuning in from space.

A slow-moving front is forecast to move into the city from the north. Thunderstorms are most likely in the later afternoon and into the evening, when the parade would begin.
