======================

Good evening, everyone! As we have been saying for a few days now, our dearest Nanny will be embarking on a much delayed and much deserved trip to Scotland in a few weeks. Join us in wishing her a Bon Voy Aggie!! (🎩 to Bugs Bunny 😄) We’d be forever grateful for anyone who’d like to take a turn at the writers’ or herders’ desk to fill in while she’s gone (6/23-8/7). She writes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and herds critters on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Our wonderful RobbyK has volunteered to herd critters on Wednesdays. Thank you RobbyK!!! Anyone wanting to write or herd on just one day or multiple days will be greeted as a conquering hero! We could sure use your help. 💙

Heather Cox Richardson has teamed up with others to present a series of videos to make American history more accessible. She sees a need to educate people about the similarities we are facing now with a wannabe king and how our independence from King George III came about nearly 250 years ago. This link takes you to a series of ten short videos that I found to be very well done.

Journey to American Democracy -- Ten Steps to Revolution

From her letter dated June 7, 2025

✂️ Journey to American Democracy explores how democracy has always required blood and sweat and inspiration to overcome the efforts of those who would deny equality to their neighbors. It examines how, for more than two centuries, ordinary people have worked to make the principles the founders articulated in the Declaration of Independence the law of the land. Those principles establish that we have a right to be treated equally before the law, to have a say in our government, and to have equal access to resources. ✂️

She intends to continue this series with new videos released in the weeks and months ahead. I look forward to them. I also recommend her YouTube channel. She interviews interesting people and will engage in Politics Chats as well.

Old news, but a good article

x Buffoonish billionaires at war! trump and Elon Musk are fighting, and I’m loving it. My Substack has the juicy, insane details — take a break from doom scrolling, dive in and laugh along with me! brooklyndaddefiant.substack.com/p/excuse-me-...

Their lies are getting more and more desperate and more and more obvious. We live in an information age. With actual eye-witness video circulating, the mainstream media is woefully out of touch. If we’re lucky, enough people will begin to make the connection that not only do we need to rid ourselves of this fascist government, but we need to rid ourselves of all in the media who enable them.

News organizations should not operate on a for profit basis. News is a public service whose only duty is to tell the truth.

PEACEFUL PROTESTS ARE WORKING!!!

The Opposition Rises Against Trump's Chaos and More Great News

✂️ In another loss for Trump, the State Dept. ordered US embassies to resume processing visas for Harvard’s international students. This follows a federal judge’s ruling that halted Trump’s order to refuse them. AG Pam Bondi’s brother, Brad, was absolutely trounced in his bid to become president of the D.C. Bar Association. Bondi got only 9.1% of the votes, while his opponent Diane Seltzer got 90.9%. This is clearly a strong rebuke to Pam Bondi. ✂️ The protests against Trump’s ICE and National Guard invasion aren't just happening in California either. Thousands of demonstrators also showed up in Dallas, Baltimore, NYC, DC, and in cities all across America to stand in solidarity with Los Angeles. The truth is, all of this was preventable—if only the Trump regime didn’t treat people like garbage and scoop them off the streets. I think all of these developments are building up to make Saturday’s peaceful protests the biggest we’ve seen in a very long time. For the record, most of the demonstrations have been peaceful, but that’s not what corporate media will show you. Because people dancing in the street—or protesters blowing bubbles—doesn’t fit their narrative. They’ll only show you the worst of it all. ✂️

I read this a few days ago, but with the escalation of the felon sending troops to blue states, it provides little comfort. Still, what he’s doing is illegal and it reeks of desperation. Troop deployments will be stopped, I’m sure of it. (I hope!!)

That Hollow Ringing You Hear Is the Sound of Donald Trump's Threats

Are you starting to notice a pattern when it comes to Donald Trump's pressure campaign to make countries sign trade deals with him, the investigations he launches into his political enemies, and the sanctions he imposes on law firms who fail to capitulate to his demands? I am. In all three cases, pretty much nothing has actually happened. ✂️ Very few—if any—of Trump's threats against countries, companies and individuals are going anywhere. Further, outside of a group of prestigious law firms in the early weeks of the Trump administration, very few people, organizations and countries are giving in to Trump's threats anymore. The main reason why Trump's threats are ringing hollow is because, broadly speaking, they are not backed by any legal justification that will be upheld in court. The people, organizations and countries that Trump is threatening are starting to catch on to this. The president cannot levy whatever tariffs he wants on individual countries, whenever he wants. That was the crux of the ruling in the U.S. Court of International Trade, a ruling that is quite likely to be upheld by the Supreme court. As such, there is no real reason for any country to give in to Trump's threats of tariffs against them. While the president can order the Justice Department to investigate whatever he wants them to investigate, that is not the same thing as actually having evidence against his political enemies that will result in charges that will stand up in any court of law. While the president can attempt to cripple the business of any law firm he wants by trying to bar them from federal buildings, it seems pretty clear that he doesn't actually have the power to make threats like that stick. ✂️

The felon continues to damage our government and our country. We must continue to thwart his evil deeds and get to the end of this and hold each and every one of them responsible. It won’t be easy, but it will be necessary to see to it the ones trampling on America are convicted of their crimes. I’d like to see those in the media who have enabled this lawlessness with their amplification of the regime’s lies also held to account.

x I’ve been saying that I felt Trump’s dramatic escalation in recent days was driven in part by Musk’s emasculation of him last week. I also wonder whether it’s being driven by Zelensky’s profound humiliation of Putin, and Putin lashing out at Trump for not delivering Ukraine to him.

[image or embed] — Simon Rosenberg (@simonwdc.bsky.social) June 10, 2025 at 6:08 PM === There is so much law breaking and chaos and the most egregious spectacles overshadow a lot of what they’re doing under the radar. We must remain vigilant and call them out on every single law they break.

✂️ Is the Trump administration violating the Antideficiency Act, and spending money that has not yet been appropriated by Congress? As Politico reported on June 4, leading Republican members of Congress are concerned this is happening , specifically when it comes to immigration enforcement, even if they are using extremely gentle language when talking to the Trump administration about it. ✂️ Rep. Mark Amodei (R-Nev.) is basically pleading with higher ups in the Trump administration to stop spending money that Congress has not appropriated. If a House Republican subcommittee chair is using language like this, it is basically a guarantee that the law is being violated. So, not only is the Trump administration not spending money that was appropriated by Congress, they are likely spending money that was not appropriated by Congress. Not only is this one of the reasons why government spending has not actually gone down under Trump, it is also undemocratic, illegal and unconstitutional. Even Republican members of Congress seem pretty uncomfortable with what is happening here, so it is at least conceivable that there could be some sort of bipartisan pushback, whether in public or behind the scenes, to put an end to the Trump administration spending money that was not appropriated by Congress. ✂️

At the link there is a way to send your House representative a letter opposing this violation of the Antideficiency Act.

Please continue to contact your members of Congress, sign petitions, write postcards, and protest peacefully. We, as citizens, have the most awesome power and we must use it!

The latest issue of The Blue Print is HERE

There are only 3 observances today according to the calendar I use. Usually my Wednesdays have a whole slew of days to celebrate! Let’s make each one of these count. 😁

===

This special day began in 2019 as an opportunity to inspire conservationists, wildlife enthusiasts, big cat fanatics, NGOs, zoos, schools, the private sector, and individuals to celebrate the iconic jaguar. The Jaguar is the most threatened big cat in the Americas. The word 'jaguar' comes from the indigenous word 'yaguar', which means 'he who kills with one leap'. This is fitting, as Jaguars have a more powerful bite than any other big cat. Their teeth are strong enough to bite through the thick hides of crocodilians and the hard shells of turtles. The jaguar is the third biggest cat in the world - after the tiger and the lion - and is the largest cat in the Americas. They can grow up to 170cm long, not including their impressive tails which can be up to 80cm. x x YouTube Video ===

Today, the United States is the world's largest producer of corn, a testament to its enduring significance. A typical ear of corn has about 800 kernels. They are always arranged in an even number of rows. Supposedly, there is one silk strand for each kernel of corn. x x YouTube Video Be aware, dogs can choke on corn cobs. And corn cobs are NOT digestible. If a dog eats part of a cob, chances are it will block his intestines. It’s fine to let your dog eat the corn off the cob, just do not let your dog eat the cob. Supervise your dog with corn! ===

It isn’t German at all! It was created in America.

In 1852, Sam German created a dark baking chocolate bar for Baker's Chocolate Company, and in his honor, the company named it "Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate."
