What would happen if the protests suddenly stopped? [1]

Would the armed forces stay for very long? At what cost? What would the soldiers and officers do if there were no protests, patrol the quiet streets until *rump declares victory? What if the protests moved far enough away that the deployed troops needed to be moved? Then if after they were moved, the protests in the second location ended and the streets were quiet? What if there were to be a third location, etc.?

Folks like *rump always want to focus on one problem, in one place. They have difficulty solving problems that occur in various places over time. It is easier to deal with one group of ‘rebels’ than many groups (often times smaller groups); one only group to negotiate with as opposed to many who might not have the same goals.

The large number of protests that occurred with the Hands Off effort got some attention. Hopefully the No Kings movement will get even more. But the question becomes: How does *rump respond to the widespread and non-violent efforts, especially if they continue to happen and grow in number?
