Dear Chief Justice Roberts,
I am a citizen writing to express my deep concern regarding the Supreme Court’s recent decision allowing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access to sensitive Social Security data. As Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson noted in her dissent, this ruling poses a grave privacy risk for millions of Americans.
The Social Security Administration holds highly personal information, including medical records, financial details, and Social Security numbers. Granting DOGE broad access to this data without sufficient safeguards could lead to unintended consequences, including potential misuse or security vulnerabilities.
I urge the Court to reconsider this decision and take steps to ensure that Americans’ private information remains protected. The right to privacy is fundamental, and I hope the Court will uphold this principle.
