Gandhi and King demonstrated the power of non-violent protest. PEACEFUL protests cannot be defeated by violence.
The governor and mayor were very smart to take the confrontation out of the hands of the military and use the trained, unmasked local law enforcement officers (+horses) to move the demonstrators away from the Federal buildings. For now there has been no major confrontation between protesters and the military. Round 1 goes to the Nazis opposition.
Gandhi and King have shown us how to change the direction of governments. The only movement that cannot be overcome is one where there is no violence, just continuous moral pressure.
Boycotts and work stoppages are examples of proven tactics.
What will happen if a significant fraction of immigrants, both those who have sought asylum and those who were following the money to jobs in the U.S.? It seems to me that a large number of low wage jobs will go without workers from the building trades to the food production and processing industry. What impact will the plunge in employees and thus production have on a teetering U.S. economy?
I am willing to wager that the effects will not be positive.

Back in the days of the Cold War, the FBI informants in groups were easy to spot because they were the ones paying the dues to the party.
I wonder how many of those agitating for violence in the LA protests are being supported by outside organizations and states who want to see violence erupt in the U.S.
Evidence exposed by the actions of the Trump regime shows that they either are not concerned with the economy of the U.S. or that they do not care. They appear to believe that sinking the “ship of state” by blowing big holes in both the production and consumption sides will have no effect on the economy.
The Trump regime wants nothing more than an excuse to take the next step toward his authoritarian dreams of a fascist state.
