My day started with this annoying post. It’s problematic on lots of levels, but today I’m pointing out that she’s not asking ANYTHING of republicans who are the problem. Nothing, zero, zip, nada.
If I had a dollar for every time someone’s said to me that Democrats need to do xxxxxxxx, I’d have a lot more money than I do now.
Republicans are the problem. REPUBLICANS! Repeat after me, “republicans are the problem!”
x Seems like today would be a good day for Barack Obama to give a fiery, inspirational speech. Or just say anything. — Mrs. Betty Bowers (@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social) 2025-06-08T19:51:01.348Z
You know who gets it, among others, Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
x Donald Trump incited a violent mob to attack the Capitol.Hundreds of dangerous felons who brutally beat police officers with impunity were then pardoned by the President on his first day in office.Don’t ever lecture America about law and order. — Hakeem Jeffries (@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social) 2025-06-08T19:24:06.068Z
The question he was posed: “Do you think some of the images were seeing from Los Angeles put Democrats who are in swing districts in a tough spot when they might be asked to defend some of these things when immigration and fighting back against ICE is not a front and center issue in those districts?”
His response is absolute perfection!
x Jeffries: "We will not be lectured by Donald Trump and anyone in the Republican Party about issues of law and order ... he pardoned hundreds of violent felons, criminals, who brutally assaulted police officers and attacked the Capitol on January 6. That's what Donald Trump did on day one." — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2025-06-09T19:26:20.937Z
Why isn’t the question framed around republicans since they hold the power? Shouldn’t the question be do you think republicans in swing districts can defend the militarization of protests?
It’s crazy making.
We owe it to ourselves to blame republicans for their actions — ALL OF US.
