Sunday Morning Open Thread with Music by k. d. lang [1]

Good morning, folks.
Hey, hey, the Kos Library seems to be working again. Finally.
Anyway, it occurred to me that I haven’t done a diary yet on the phenomenal k. d. lang. While I was scrounging up vids of her songs I came upon a vid by a God’s honest opera singer who analyzed one of her pieces. Needless to say, the young man was amazed by her performance. But first,
Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum. Join us, please.
My typical method for drafting my Morning Open Thread diaries is to first choose an artist, then fill in the routine housekeeping bits, and then compose this last body of text. Although this actual composition should be the easiest to come up with—this is, after all, an open thread—I find it the most challenging. This is why I usually leave it blank until the last minute. I think the reason for this is that I live a dull life. Look at some of my past topics—my two cats, my aches and pains, and the fat raccoon who is becoming ever more brazen in his search for handouts. That stuff is so mundane I feel I’m letting you down. You deserve better.
Don’t be alarmed by my gloom and doom. I am not planning on leaving you in search of a new Sunday diarist. It’s just that it’s 3:30 AM on Sunday morning as I’m typing this and I got nuthing.
I can always think of a band to cover. Hell, I can even do a repeat with artists with large portfolios. It’s only the text that makes me draw a blank. Any ideas for future topics would be welcome.
Our prolific contributor P Carey has become an esteemed MOT emeritus, so there are slots available for bloggers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If interested contact officebss or Ozarkblue via KOSmail. Blank-slate diaries will fill in those unused slots in the meantime.
Now how about some music?
So what’s on your mind this morning?
