A Mea Culpa on my Gestapo Analogy [1]

In a post on May 11th [www.dailykos.com/...] I made a comment, implying a parallel between the GOP’s ICE squad and the Nazi Gestapo.

With ICE (often dressed in full military gear) stopping and interrogating random people, demanding to see their ‘papers’; nabbing folks from their homes and off the streets; ‘disappearing’ many of them into the equivalent of ‘concentration camps’; all the while being completely unaccountable to anyone or anything outside the regime… it seemed to me the comparison was appropriate.

But in hindsight I feel that might have been a little unfair.

So, I want to set the record straight, before some historian does it for me.

The Gestapo didn’t wear masks.
