Looks like trump has found his excuse to deploy soldiers in California. He is escalating his war on California, by authorizing the DoD to deploy National Guard to quell the “rebellion” as he and his minions call it. This comes after his move earlier this week to starve CA out of federal funds.
Gov. Newsom politely makes it clear that the state is in control of the situation; he knows what trump’s agenda is.
Joyce White Vance points out that the use of Title 10 "is almost certainly a conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the use of the military for domestic law enforcement, including the National Guard if they are federalized."
x 1/ If accurate, this is almost certainly a conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the use of the military for domestic law enforcement, including the National Guard if they are federalized. — Joyce White Vance (@joycewhitevance.bsky.social) 2025-06-08T02:05:40.937Z

The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law. This 143-year-old law embodies an American tradition that sees military interference in civilian affairs as a threat to both democracy and personal liberty. However, recent events have revealed dangerous gaps in the law’s coverage that Congress must address.
Although 10 U.S.C. § 12406 sounds quite broad on the powers given to the President.
SecDef upped the ante by threatening to send in the Marines.
Fascism is here; it has been since Jan 20. It’s time to rise and defend our nation from this alien invasion.
