Street Prophets Coffee Hour: A whole new litter of kittens with a cute kitten video [1]

Welcome to Street Prophets Coffee Hour, the place where politics meets up with religion, nature, art, and life. Come in and join us.
I didn’t expect this to happen when I moved from the farm to a working class suburb of Dallas, but here I am. I had cats aplenty showing up on the farm, whether strays, ferals, or abandoned/dumped cats and kittens. But now—well, I’ve found that the term “alley cat” is an actual thing.
The last litter is being homed, including one girl that went to my daughter. I still have the three boys, but they’re being neutered Wednesday, and then I have arrangements with a private shelter to take them.
But, of course, one of the original kittens, already here when I moved in, has grown enough to have her own kittens. These are too cute! Now that I’ve found some actual rescue groups and shelters in this area, I can place them much sooner, as soon as I can catch and tame them.
This is how I found out the little tuxedo kitten had babies of her own. And just as I was ready to trap her, too.
Two little grey kittens.
Three black kittens.
They don’t come all the way to me, but they aren’t as afraid as the last litter was.
That’s the weight from a bamboo wind chime. Kitten has made its own toys from what is found in my yard.
I can pet the mom cat now. It took a few months, but now she thinks she’s mine. In fact, now I can pet all three of the cats (not the newest kittens) that are coming to my yard. Not bad, for a bunch of unhomed cats breeding in the alley. (Only not breeding any longer. I expect to have this cat spayed next week, when her milk has dried up, and the original breeding pair was done in the winter.)
Better than television. Kitten spent a fair amount of time trying to catch that tail, but it stayed just out of reach. Until a sibling came along and said, “Hey, knock it off. You look goofy.”
