Hope Springs from Field understands that volunteer to voter personal interactions are critical. Knocking on doors has repeatedly been found to be the most successful tactic to get voters to cast a ballot and that is the goal of what we do.
We wrote about last Saturday’s canvass in Arizona in Thursday’s diary . 537 volunteers knocked on 39,576 doors. Arizona volunteers talked to 3,205 voters and had in-depth conversations with 2,042 of them, respectively, guided by our Issues Questionnaire.
Florida
We wrote about last Saturday’s canvass in Florida in yesterday’s diary. 659 volunteers knocked on 47,250 doors. Florida volunteers talked to 3,780 voters and had in-depth conversations with 2,396 of them, respectively, guided by our Issues Questionnaire.
Georgia
527 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday in Georgia. We knocked on 39,366 doors and talked to 3,228 voters. 2,065 of those voters answered at least some of our questions.
We registered 41 new voters (primarily African-American) and re-registered 26 voters.
Jobs was the Top Issue in Georgia on Saturday. Tariffs was second and Inflation was third.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 26% disapproved. 11% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 44% disapproved. 50% of voters we talked to said they approved of the job Jon Ossoff was doing in the Senate; 4% said they disapproved. 36% approved of the job Gov. Kemp is doing while 37% disapproved.
302 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms and 4 voters filled out Incident Reports.
Iowa
We wrote about last Saturday’s kick-off canvass in Iowa in Wednesday’s diary. 379 volunteers knocked on 26,416 doors. Iowa volunteers talked to 2,113 voters and had in-depth conversations with 1,331 of them, respectively, guided by our Issues Questionnaire.
Michigan
202 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday. We knocked on 14,685 doors and talked to 1,175 voters. 748 of those voters answered at least some of our questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 5 new voters and re-registered 17 voters. 41 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
Tariffs was the Top Issue in Michigan on Saturday. Jobs was second. Federal Budget Cuts was third.
5% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 41% disapproved. The one thing we are learning is that this is a more salient issue in some states than most others. 8% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 47% disapproved. 51% approved of the job Gov. Whitmer is doing while 5% disapproved.
Minnesota
289 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday. We knocked on 21,472 doors and talked to 1,739 voters. 1,113 of those voters answered at least some of our questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 3 new voters and re-registered 14 voters. 83 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
The Economy was the Top Issue in Minnesota on Saturday. Tariffs was second. Jobs was third.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 27% disapproved. 7% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 44% disapproved. 53% approved of the job Gov. Walz is doing while 4% disapproved.
New Hampshire
203 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday. We knocked on 14,961 doors and talked to 1,232 voters. 789 of those voters answered at least some of our questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 3 new voters and re-registered 8 voters. 83 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
Prices was the Top Issue in New Hampshire on Saturday. Tariffs was second. Threats to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid was third.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 25% disapproved. 12% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 47% disapproved. 12% approved of the job Gov. Ayotte is doing while 39% disapproved.
Nevada
379 volunteers came out to knock on doors in Nevada on Saturday. We knocked on 27,288 doors and volunteers talked to 2,183 voters. 1,386 of those voters answered questions on our Issues Survey.
We registered 1 new voter and re-registered 7 voters.
The Economy remained the Number 1 Issue in Nevada on Saturday. Tariffs were second and Threats to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid was third.
1% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 18% disapproved. 13% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 44% disapproved. There is no senate race next year in Nevada, but we are asking about job approval for the Members of Congress in these districts. 51% approved and 5% disapproved. You will see that these took a dramatic turn last week. 4% approved of the job Gov. Lombardo is doing while 38% disapproved.
154 voters filled out Constituent Service Requests. 2 voters filled out Incident Reports, citing potential problems they had witnessed in a prior election.
North Carolina
326 volunteers came out to knock on doors in North Carolina. We knocked on 24,026 doors and talked to 1,946 voters. 1,239 of those voters answered questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 28 new voters (primarily African-American due to our Divine Nine volunteers) and re-registered 16 voters.
Jobs was the Number 1 Issue in North Carolina. Threats to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid AND Rural Hospitals was second. Tariffs was third.
1% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 26% disapproved. 11% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 47% disapproved. 4% approved of the job Thom Tillis was doing in the Senate; 51% disapproved. 51% approved of the job Gov. Stein is doing while 5% disapproved.
113 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms. 4 voters filled out Incident Reports.
Ohio
214 volunteers came out to knock on doors in Ohio last weekend. We knocked on 15,707 doors and talked to 1,256 voters. 804 of those voters answered questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 3 new voters and re-registered 12 voters. 106 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
The Economy was the Number 1 Issue in Ohio. Tariffs was second. Threats to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid was third.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 27% disapproved. 13% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 44% disapproved. 5% approved of the job Jon Husted was doing in the Senate; 18% disapproved. 37% approved of the job Gov. DeWine is doing while 38% disapproved.
Pennsylvania
272 volunteers came out to knock on doors in Pennsylvania last Saturday. We knocked on 20,209 doors and talked to 1,657 voters. 1,050 of those voters answered questions from our Issues Survey.
Jobs was the Number 1 Issue in Pennsylvania. Tariffs was second. Trump’s Chaos was third. Unpredictability, TACO, just the general Trump Crisis stuff.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 25% disapproved. 8% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 48% disapproved. There is no senate race next year in Pennsylvania, but we ask about job approval for the Members of Congress in these districts. 5% approved of the job the incumbent Member of Congress was doing; 46% disapproved. 51% approved of the job Gov. Shapiro is doing while only 2% disapproved.
168 voters filled out Constituent Service Requests. 6 voters filled out an Incident Report, citing potential problems they had witnessed in a prior election.
Texas
633 volunteers came out to knock on doors on Saturday in Texas. We knocked on 46,841 doors and talked to 3,794 voters. 2,409 of those voters answered at least some of our questions.
We registered 36 new voters (mostly African-American, due to Divine Nine volunteers) and re-registered 28 voters.
The Economy was the Top Issue in Texas last weekend. Jobs was second and Tariffs was third.
3% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 27% disapproved. 14% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing while 41% disapproved. 4% approved of the job John Cornyn was doing in the Senate; 41% disapproved. 5% approved of the job Gov. Abbott is doing while 41% disapproved.
237 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms and 5 voters filled out Incident Reports, citing potential problems they had witnessed in a prior election.
Virginia
285 volunteers came out to knock on doors on Saturday in Virginia in the 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts. We knocked on 21,004 doors and talked to 1,700 (!) voters. 1,088 of those voters answered at least some of our questions. We re-registered 6 voters.
Jobs was the Top Issue in Virginia last weekend (VA-02 is the home of Norfolk. which has a lot of federal employees). Prices was second. Federal Budget Cuts was third. Both these districts have an above average electorate in the Federal workforce.
1% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 41% disapproved. 9% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing; 47% disapproved. 53% approved of the job John Warner was doing in the Senate; 3% disapproved. 3% approved of the job Gov. Youngkin is doing while 47% disapproved.
88 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
