A Palestinian Militia in Gaza Is Not a Solution — Haaretz

On Thursday, the Prime Minister's Office refused to respond to lawmaker Avigdor Lieberman's accusation that "Israel is supplying assault rifles and light arms to crime families in Gaza on the instructions of Netanyahu."

Instead of denying or confirming, the PMO responded: "Israel is working to defeat Hamas in a variety of different ways upon the recommendation of the entire defense establishment leadership." It's not only the PMO that employs the tactic of silence and denial. Last week, Haaretz revealed the existence of an armed Palestinian militia that operates undisturbed in the southern Gaza Strip under the leadership of a man called Yasser Abu Shabab.

For those of you with short memories

For years, Netanyahu propped up Hamas. Now it's blown up in our faces - The Times of Israel.

For years, the various governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu took an approach that divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank — bringing Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to his knees while making moves that propped up the Hamas terror group. The idea was to prevent Abbas — or anyone else in the Palestinian Authority’s West Bank government — from advancing toward the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The reality of this slaughter.

A Leaked Tape Revealed Netanyahu's True Wartime Priorities - Haaretz

A tape recording broadcast on Israeli News on Wednesday revealed how Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is running the Israel-Hamas War. In a tape released on Israel's Channel 13 News, Netanyahu told a senior ultra-Orthodox rabbi that he fired former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and pushed for the resignation of the IDF Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi, just because they were an obstacle in ratifying a draft dodging bill which would exempt ultra-Orthodox youth from serving in the IDF. Not because he viewed the two as responsible for the scandals of October 7, or because they were preventing him from total victory and the dismantling of Hamas, but rather so that he could pass the bill that is currently endangering his coalition.

This has always seemed as plain as day to me. I have always demanded that my thoughts be corroborated, and Netanyahu has never ceased to provide them.

Trump wants to win a Nobel Prize for something or other, but the two wars he said he could end in days have only gotten worse over time, and the vetoes in the UN continue.

The rest of the West, while using rhetoric, has failed to do anything noteworthy in its desperate attempt to modify its historical record. A sort of "yeah, but" we really were concerned about something or other. I call bullshit, they are still enabling the supply of weapons.

Enemies surround the Palestinians, both internal [Hamas] and external [Israel]. You can add to it the existing Palestinian crime gangs, which are now being supplied with weapons. Please do not tell me Western governments, particularly the Trump administration, knew nothing about this.

Israel continues to bomb both Lebanon and Syria, and to expand its territories. Netanyahu’s plan for eternal war and his retention of power seem to be working.

This is going to solve what exactly?
