Musings for Friday - The Longest Day [1]

In case in we forget amongst the chatter of today. 81 years ago our fathers and grandfathers embarked on a campaign to remove a fascist from power in Europe. Yes there were other invasions before this one, but this was the one that decided the eventual and inevitable downfall of Hitler.

Too often we focus on our current predicament and forget the tribulations of the past. Some of our countrymen tend to think that Hitler and Mussolini had the right idea and that, that is where we must remind the country and the world that dictators are never worth the price of our freedoms. Freedoms for ourselves and ALL of humanity.
