Darren Beattie is the State Department acting under-secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs. Heather Cox Richardson reported about him in her June 4 report (

He was dismissed from the first Trump administration after attending a white nationalist rally.

He is married to a Russian national.

He has shut down the office that countered disinformation from Russia, China, and Iran.

He has attacked the United States as the “globalist American empire”.

He said that Putin should infiltrate western institutions to fight “woke” ideology.

He wrote that the position of the U.S. in the global order is rapidly deteriorating and that he looked forward to its prestige and power collapsing.

He has praised Putin as “brave and strong”.

He said that Putin has done more to advance conservative positions in the US than any Republican.

He said that almost all Western institutions would improve in quality if they were infiltrated and controlled by Putin.

He wrote that NATO is a far worse threat to the health, liberty, freedom, and flourishing of American citizens than Russia and China combined.

Summary:

Beattie is an acolyte of Putin, and is openly working to promote Putin's influence within the US government. Where is the outrage? This should be headline news for the NYT and WaPo. Has this become so "normal" that it is not newsworthy? Are the NYT and WaPo editors too afraid to report this?

A google search for " Darren Beattie" found references in the following news publishers: MSN, telegraph, Times (UK), New Republic, ABC News, CNN, Newsweek, Reuters, The Atlantic, Yahoo, Rolling Stone, BBC ...
