Trump now bans Harvard foreign students from even entering the U.S. [1]

The proclamation is titled "Enhancing National Security By Addressing Risks At Harvard University." It's got a fact sheet with a different title: "Donald J. Trump Restricts Foreign Student Visas at Harvard University."
The proclamation was put up on WhiteHouse.gov at 8pm on Wednesday. Harvard was in court immediately on Thursday, amending the original complaint where Trump was revoking international student visas of students already here.
In court papers, Harvard accused the White House of trying to circumvent an earlier court order that had blocked the Department of Homeland Security from banning international enrollment at Harvard. The university said that President Trump had violated the law again by invoking the executive power of the presidency against the school when the agency's efforts had failed.
The fact sheet says "Harvard has a demonstrated history of concerning foreign ties and radicalism."
The reasons listed are totally bogus. Like, the FBI has warned that adversaries send students here to exploit our research and development. The university has seen a rise of crime on campus and failing to discipline. Read Palestinian protests. And the fake anti-anti-semitism crusade saying that the protesters are mostly foreign students. DEI used in admissions. They're getting money from China.
In the proclamation, it goes into great detail about the imagined crimes committed by foreign students.
"These concerns have compelled the Federal Government to conclude that Harvard University is no longer a trustworthy steward of international student and exchange visitor programs."
As usual, no contact with the University about this ahead of time. The Trump administration always judges first and then deals with the response. Pretty much like shoot first, ask questions later.
Harvard argues the administration is retaliating against it for refusing to accede to its demands to control the school's governance, curriculum and the ideology of its faculty and students.
Harvard President Alan Garber said that they are making contingency plans so visiting scholars and students can continue their work at the university.
With all this going on, international student interest in coming to the United States is dropping at a rapid pace. We want our universities to be the best of the best of the best, but Donald Trump doesn't care. All he cares about is winning his petty culture wars.
On Thursday, Trump tied the attack in Boulder, Colorado, to unvetted foreign nationals. It's only one step away from blaming students. He's already banned people from 12 countries from entering the U.S., and restricted entry from seven others.
Battling anti-semitism and wiping out DEI are Trump's cover stories for his actions. Harvard has called his bluff again.
In its court filing on Thursday, Harvard acted by amending one of the lawsuits, and also asked Judge Burroughs to issue an immediate temporary restraining order banning the proclamations enforcement.
Considering how quickly Judge Burroughs granted the original temporary restraining order, we should probably know very soon that the new one is granted.
