TACO finally gets the call from Xi [1]

Trump has lied before about getting a phone call from Xi since the tariff trade war started. Who called who, Trump doesn't let on.
At least there are going to be trade negotiations. Currently the tariffs on China are at least 60% on steel and aluminum and 10% on everything else and many products will exceed 30%. It's tough to keep up with TACO. Chinese tariffs on American goods are 36.2%.
Trump said in a post earlier this week that China had broken a trade deal. No details of that deal were made public, leading all to believe Trump was just lying again, just like having talked with Xi.
"... recently made, and agreed to, Trade Deal."
The one no one knows anything about.
"There should no longer be any questions regarding the complexity of Rare Earth products."
Is that they are complex for the manufacturing processes that use them? Complex in the negotiations about them? Or did Trump just learn what they really are? No clue what he meant.
Location of talks not set, but two of the most ignorant people in their respective cabinet positions are going to muck it up. Scott Bessent of Treasury and Howard Lutnick of Commerce. Lutnick will tell them their grandmothers won't miss the check not in the mail. Great negotiator. Jamieson Greer was the Trade Representative in Trump's first term. This time he's a supporter of Trump's new tariffs. I expect the Chinese will wipe the floor with them.
"President Xi graciously invited the First Lady and me to visit China, and I reciprocated."
Reciprocal tariffs on the trip, too?
"Nothing was discussed concerning Russia / Ukraine, or Iran."
China is a big customer of Russia's oil, so maybe you need to be talking about that.
I was almost thinking that Trump was functional until:
"Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
That third person sign off is still another cognitive decline indicator.
So, maybe Donnie Two Dolls will let kids have 50 dolls instead of two, and 250 pencils instead of 5 for Christmas.
I'm not having high expectations of the meeting, considering who's representing our side. I would rather have experts at Commerce and Treasury, the bureaucrats Trump hates, doing the work, unless Trump has already replaced them with ignorant loyalists.
The battle begins.
