Asymmetrical warfare, with modern technology
THE UKRAINIAN drones that emerged from lorries deep inside Russia on June 1st, then plunged onto Russian air fields and struck perhaps a dozen bombers will be ranked among the great raiding parties of military history.
Drones have become an iconic symbol of the war in Ukraine. The latest Ukrainian attack starkly illustrates two truths about about drone warfare:
1) Being deployed in inventive ways, drones can inflict disportioncate damage on the enemy;
and
2) The battlefield has expanded far behind the front lines.
After decades of complacency, Britain, like its allies, has acknowledged that it must prepare for war.
It seems to me that the US is no longer one of Britain’s allies, given that, AFIK, we are not preparing for war.
Pretendisdent TACO has aligned himself with Putin, who has made clear that Ukraine is not the last target in his quest to re-establish the Russian Empire, which once included vast tracts of territory in what is now modern Europe.
