Trump is not pushing 'deportation' but engaging in illegal detention and human trafficking [1]

I agree with Jess Piper’s Substack post that that the Trump Administration’s conduct on immigration is not deportation but human trafficking. It is human trafficking facilitated by criminal kidnapping and illegal detention in a literal attempt to ‘disappear’ people as happened in Augusto Pinochet’s Chile; as is happening in El Salvador and in many other locations around the globe to now include the United States.

I agree the word ‘deportation’ is false and grossly misleading. A legitimate arrest for corroborable criminal activity followed by due process with intent to return the person to their country of origin (if correctly proven in court) is not what's happening.

I also largely reject the word ‘migrant’ since that's been used incorrectly, out of context and as an epithet and for more violent incitement all of which is dutifully transcribed by (most) of the corporate media. The majority of people, from young children to older adults, being caught in Trump’s human trafficking net are immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and those on approved work or student visas. Some are green card holders and, even, born here American citizens.

Snatching people off the street with no warrants who most often have no criminal record whatsoever (or such ‘records’ as minor traffic violations) then trying to ‘disappear’ them in indefinite, illegal detention in Louisiana or sending others who are non-Salvadoran to a brutal prison in El Salvador is kidnapping, illegal detention and human trafficking. Trump is actively subsidizing the uniquely brutal Salvadoran dictator, Nayib Bukele, to take part in the trafficking of immigrants by the Trump regime.

Kidnapping students who wrote an op-ed that Trump or Rubio doesn't like or others who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time is not deportation. A forced quota to arrest 3,000 persons a month, the large majority of whom have no criminal record, are either students and/or people with jobs and families who work hard, are active contributing members of their communities and pay taxes is not deportation. Snatching refugees from courthouses and when they are doing what they are supposed to and in contact with immigration authorities is not deportation but kidnapping and illegal detention.

It is the GOP who have consistently and adamantly refused to have any honest discussion on immigration. It is the GOP who suddenly rejected a strong immigration bill authored by Senator Lankford in 2023 which would have passed Congress and been signed by President Biden because Trump demanded it. He demanded it in order to better use immigration as an election ‘strategy’ with which a spineless GOP went along and the media barely reported.

And I haven't seen barely a single word by the media about any of these realities. About the unconstitutional, illegal and inhumane profanity being perpetrated by the Trump Administration in America’s name. Instead, they just keep treating Trump's growing insanity, nonstop gibberish, criminal behavior and deeply dystopian model as normal.

The media must represent what's happening accurately and with honesty. The media needs to stop it's false equivalent garbage and report the violence and illegality of the entire Trump model which is based on cruelty, politicking to the most gullible hate riven Americans, and Project 2025. And with it, Trump continues to deconstruct the American economy while redistributing massive amounts of money UP to the richest 1% and away from American taxpayers and workers
