On raising money for haiti, a follow up [1]

I don’t raise money for Haiti per se, I raise money for Haitian families and send that money directly (through e-wallet) to them, roughly between 50-100 US$ per family, depending on how many kids there are in that family. (I have about 60 families that I help this way).
Sometimes I will also fundraise for a specific case, for instance, the last one was a woman giving birth who had an emergency, so I raised money for her bill. I also did a drive to buy meds here and send to Haiti because they were running out of certain meds.
Some in the past have suggested that I do Patreons, Substacks or other things that people would subscribe to, now I think people are already forced to subscribe to too many things so I prefer to have a discreet link in my signature. Some have suggested I put my poems behind a paywall. No.
I use Paypal for it is the only international system I got access too, my niece let me have hers (hence the Anais) since she switched to Zelle. Also Paypal has Xoom a service that allows me to deposit money directly on someone’s phone in haiti, thus they don’t have to expose themselves to dangers of banking or transfers, they can pay with their “moncash” directly with their phones.
I never contact people that have donated to ask for more donation, neither in private or by tagging them or emailing them. Sometimes I will send a thank you note via Paypal when I receive a donation. You give of your own free will. When you can and if you can.
I never treat people who donate differently either, i’ve had people who think donating to Haiti through me gives them some kind of hold over me, it doesnt’. I’ve had others who think they can earn some sexual favors from me you can’t. This isn’t about me.
So that’s it. I wanted to explain a bit more, because I didn’t go into details yesterday I was too upset.
