Big Shoes [1]

The Democratic Party has some huge shoes to fill, during this time in which American Fascism has come to fruition, wrapped in the pages of the Bible and the flag. American Indians have already survived this, and infinitely worse. African-Americans have already survived this, and infinitely worse. Women have already survived this, much worse so than today, but obviously not as bad as the American Indian and the African American, unless of course, they were native or black too - then what they suffered at the hands of American Colonism, the precursor to Americans Fascism, was infinitely worse than their male counterparts, who generally wouldn't be raped, nor worry about their unborn child being ripped out of their womb and massacred. There were heroes during the French and Indian Wars, during the time of slavery, and the writing of the United States Constitution. Those heroes were willing to risk their lives for the people, and today they're willing to go to lunch, excluding the obvious exceptions, and complain that the service isn't that good.

Tecumseh was willing to risk his life to fight for the people.

https://www.ictinc.ca/blog/tecumseh-shawnee-war-chief-1768-1813 Tecumseh, Shawnee War Chief was a charismatic leader, an orator and a respected war chief of the Shawnee Indians of Ohio. His vision for a Confederacy of Indians to stand united in the face of the expropriation of their lands and cultures was pivotal in the defense of British North Americans against American troops. He was born in a Shawnee village near what is now Springfield, Ohio. His father was killed in 1774 in a battle between the Virginia militia and the Shawnee which is considered to have been pivotal in Tecumseh’s outlook towards the militia and white settlers.

This is pathetic. I actually wrote the last sentence of my paragraph before finding this article, that's very recent. Yeah, they're just going to go to lunch and complain about the service.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/jun/04/dnc-meeting-little-rock-arkansas People with the power to change the direction of the Democratic party – the executive committee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) – met last Friday for the first time in five months. They took no action.

Continuing, Frederick Douglass was a hero during the time of slavery, in which he taught himself how to read, and used his reading and writing skills to help free others.

https://alexandbooks.com/archive/the-incredible-story-of-how-fredrick-douglass-learned-to-read-amp-write Douglass knew that reading would lead to his freedom, and although he had lost his teacher, he was determined to learn how to read: “I set out with high hope, and a fixed purpose, at whatever cost of trouble, to learn how to read.” So how did he do it? Douglass carried a book with him anytime he was sent out for errands, and if he had extra time, would make friends with young white boys and ask them for lessons.

On the other hand, John Fetterman proved that knowing oneself, and the ability to identify one's own excuses are crucial at this time.

He regularly skips committee hearings, cancels meetings, avoids the daily caucus lunches with colleagues, and rarely goes on the Senate floor,” they wrote.

Frederick Douglass taught himself to read, and carried the book around with him as he taught himself. I know we lost the election, but haven't there been people who have successfully defeated Trump in one way or the other? Yes. Kamala Harris defeated Trump in the presidential debate. Remember how she walked over to him, and said "Kamala Harris?" Go to about 2 minutes and 28 seconds in the video.

Tecumseh didn't wait 5 months to fight if he needed more "me time." and when they discussed war plans - they executed. Douglas didn't say, "Oh well, the white people don't want me to learn how to read, so I won't." Those two had lots of support.

Kamala Harris went to political war with Trump, she went in shooting with bullets flying around her. But, her party didn't give her any cover in any meaningful way, they stood behind the buildings and let her take all the shots. It's not what they did wrong, it's what they didn't do as a party. Baby booties aren't the shoes the Democratic Party needs to be wearing. And complaining about the service at lunch time is cheap, when a lot of people don't have a lunch to complain about anymore.
