Exasperated with the Insanity of the Left - ICE Edition [1]

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
- Either Albert Einsten or an anonymous Al-Anon pamphleteer.
I can hear the band getting back together, guitars tuning up, the drummer getting the kit positioned just so, the horn players adjusting their tuning slides, reeds their mouth pieces, etc. The roadies are all right wingers. They are gleefully setting up the speakers. One is at the mixing board doing sound checks.
The rightwingers have been using ICE like gestapo. Why? Because they can thanks to left's failure to turn out and thwart them in 2024, and because they know they can goad the left into throwing them into that briar patch the right calls home.
Soon come the left will call for abolishing ICE. If you try to convince the left how stupid that is from a political perspective, and that perhaps they should call for Congress to restrict ICE's remit, and perhaps repeal the portions of the Patriot Act that give ICE such sweeping powers, they will tell you that is not good enough and you will be condemned as somehow endorsing the aspects of ICE's power this Administration is so gleefully exploiting and abusing
I mean, instead of turning out and voting for people averse to such abuses, and demanding they enact laws restricting police power, let's take to the streets and call for abolishing the police. Any politician who doesn't adopt that position? We will tell everyone we know not to vote for them because they are no different than the fascist abusing police power. That's sure to advance the human rights agenda.
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it... ever... was. Now comes the twister…
