ELECTIONS ARE MORE THAN BROKEN. How do we fix that? [1]

Yes we need to ditch the Electoral College. But we would still have broken elections if we can’t stop the Republican voter suppression schemes which continue to be implemented in 2025 in places Republicans have jurisdiction. Democrats are still being thrown off the voter rolls. It is more than broken elections. In many respects have STOLEN elections. Greg Palast, former Guardian journalist and voter suppression expert says:
“Trump lost. That is, if all legal voters were allowed to vote, if all legal ballots were counted, Trump would have lost the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Vice-President Kamala Harris would have won the Presidency with 286 electoral votes.
And, if not for the mass purge of voters of color, if not for the mass disqualification of provisional and mail-in ballots, if not for the new mass “vigilante” challenges in swing states, Harris would have gained at least another 3,565,000 votes, topping Trump’s official popular vote tally by 1.2 million.” hartmannreport.com/...
Palast was the journalist then working for The Guardian, who uncovered the extent of the voter suppression in Florida in the 2000 election. On top of the Democratic ballots that were discarded, Jeb Bush had thrown 58,000 voters, mainly voters of color, off the rolls and that was the main reason we didn’t get a President Gore like we should have.

It still seems like an overwhelming and uphill challenge.
Max Burns is a great writer, activist, radio commentator and host. Many thanks for his thought provoking article on the electoral college. Hence this diary. Without the Electoral College every vote would count...no voter would be taken for granted and ignored. That would be great. But right now voters are not just being ignored. They are being eliminated. Your thoughts?
