An idea for a winning way forward for the Democrats [1]

The Democratic leadership is stumbling around trying to figure out what to stand FOR, instead of just standing against Trump. Here’s an idea. How about standing for a fairer American economy by actually making the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes? If the multi-millionaires and the billionaires would need to pay a 10-20% tax on their wealth, with no loopholes, we would have enough money to shore up services to all the American people. We could finally fund our public schools so teachers wouldn’t have to buy supplies out of their own pockets. We could fund Medicare for all. We could improve our bridges and roads. We could beef up mental health services in a country sorely in need of them. People would notice the difference. We could lessen the income inequality somewhat. The rich would still be rich, but they wouldn’t have to do it by cutting services for the rest of us.
Be the party that stands for that. It would be in direct opposition to the party of billionaire oligarchs running the Republican party. Be the party that actually stands for government for the people. All the people.
