Sunday Morning Open Thread with Music by Fleetwood Mac [1]

Good morning to everyone.

Ugh. I see the Daily Kos image library is still broken at the time I am drafting this story. I had to go back and cut and paste the trademark purple sun from an old diary. I wonder how long before this is fixed. I miss elfing. She’d have it fixed by now. Anyway,

Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum. Join us, please.

The weather in central Wisconsin is finally going to be warm enough Sunday night that I can leave my houseplants outside overnight without being afraid it will get too cold for them. It is supposed to get down in the mid 40s tonight. This is really too chilly for tomatoes to be out unprotected. Like a dummy, I already planted mine in my garden. Also like a dummy, I didn’t cover them up before going to bed last night. I hope it doesn’t set back their growth much.

Speaking of houseplants, the Meyer lemon tree I ordered should arrive this week. Citrus trees are ridiculously easy to grow from seed. I’ve done it several times myself. I also let their soil get too dry once. One funny thing about citrus trees is once their leaves start showing distress the tree is probably already dead. I have one left now and I think the only part that survived is a couple of suckers. Suckers don’t produce fruit. I will try not to let the same fate befall my Meyer lemon tree.

That’s about it for me. I am going to try, try to mow my front yard today. Trust me, it needs it after No-Mow May. Let’s just hope my bad knee holds out.

That’s about it from Casa Blue.

Our prolific contributor P Carey has become an esteemed MOT emeritus, so there are slots available for bloggers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If interested contact officebss or Ozarkblue via KOSmail. Blank-slate diaries will fill in those unused slots in the meantime.

Now on with the tunes.

What’s on your mind this morning?
