Trump Train has left the station [1]

Rep. Greg Steube has introduced a bill to rename WMATA, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to WMAGA, and the Metrorail to Trump Train. WMAGA stands for Washington Metropolitan Authority for Greater Access.
Trump is all excited about the idea as he reposted Steube's demand on Truth Social.
And it's so cute with Trump wearing a WMAGA conductor's cap. Let's see, Trump wants himself on Mt. Rushmore, he's already got banners at the National Mall next to Lincoln, there are towns that have renamed streets to him, and there are probably parks and playgrounds. The asshole is trying to brand the whole planet.
Steube thinks that he can blackmail the Authority by withholding the annual appropriation, which apparently is $150 million.
"But this isn't about branding, it's about accountability."
It's all about branding and sucking up to Trump. He's not fooling anybody.
On his website, Steube says, "In the spirit of DOGE, this bill demands accountability by conditioning federal funding on reforms that signal a cultural shift away from the bureaucratic stagnation toward public-facing excellence and patriotism."
You know, I'm getting really sick of these attacks on bureaucracy. All of a sudden it's a bad thing like DEI. You can't run large scale operations without a bureaucracy. In business it's called management. Businesses won't work without it, and government agencies won't work without a bureaucracy.
"Like any struggling institution, WMATA needs a fresh image that aligns with efficiency, service quality, and renewed public trust. These new names serve as a bold rallying point for much needed reform."
Oh, c'mon. You can coat it in flowery language, but it's just an Ode to Donald Trump.
It hasn't been assigned a number yet, but here's the text of the bill.
Changing the name of the Metrorail to Trump Train seems completely wrong because Trump can never complete a train of thought. He's probably never been on any type of train in his life. He's praised high-speed rail in other countries, but he speaks disparagingly of the effort in California.
Trump would probably want us to go back to steam locomotives that could be fired up with coal. Electric trains he doesn't want. However, the diesel engines on trains generate electricity to run the electric motors driving the train. Nobody tell him that's how they work.
This is just another way of Donald Trump trying to mess with us, with some help with Steube. It just falls in with his grand plan of branding anything that isn't already named in his name, and if it's already a big thing that's named, he definitely wants his name on it.
There is no end to his narcissism.
