“I’m glad you’re still sleeping with me event though it’s warming up,” I said, sleepily rubbing his head.
“You’re pretty good to sleep with,” he allowed, closing his eyes in appreciation of my clumsy efforts.
I rubbed my eyes and rolled onto my back, trying to wake up. “We need to get up,” I said, just as Freddie climbed on my chest and settled down.
A gentle reminder of how we do things: 🐱🐶🐦 Do not troll the diary. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.
Please do share pics of your fur kids! If you have health/behavior issues with your pets, feel free to bring it to the community.
Pooties are cats; Woozles are dogs. Birds... are birds! Peeps are people.
Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. If you’re having “issues” with another Kossack, keep it “out there.” This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly. There are some pics we never post: snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated. If we alert you to it, please remember that we do have phobic peeps who react strongly to them. If you keep posting banned pics...well then...the Tigress will have to take matters in hand. Or, paw.I snatched an apple out of the bowl on the kitchen island and dropped it into the lunch bag, then satisfied that I had enough to eat for the day, I zipped it closed. The microwave signaled that the egg was done.
I like to let Freddie decide when cuddle time ends, but I did need to start my day. I tapped his back lightly. “We have to get up,” I said.
“You can,” he said, closing his eyes.
“That’s hard to do when you’re on top of me,” I told him, running my fingers through the fur of his back.
He shrugged a little and laid his head on my collarbone.
“I guess I’m not getting up yet,” I said, glad it wasn’t a work day.
I was sweating now. He’s a little hot water bottle and it was entirely too hot in my bedroom. “I have to move you,” I said, apologetically. I lifted him carefully and set him aside, wincing as he gave a sad little squeak. I set him down gently next to me and as soon as I released him he tried to climb back on me.
I sat up. “Sorry, little guy. It’s time to get out of bed.”
He watched me as I dressed, then followed me out of the bedroom.
I took the last swallow of my coffee and set the mug down. It was time to stop delaying and get to the gym for my workout.
I didn’t really want to go, though.
Freddie chose that moment to jump into my lap and settle down. “Oh, no,” I said, totally unconvincingly. “I’m supposed to go the gym,” I explained, petting him and smiling when he started to purr.
“No gym,” he murmured. “Just nap.” That out, he closed his eyes and dropped right off to sleep.
“Must me nice to go to sleep that fast,” I observed. Relaxing back into my seat, I sighed. The gym was going to have to wait.
Darn.
It’s the cat’s human’s constant dilemma: the urge to use the bathroom is strong, but the cat is so comfortable.
I squirmed a little in my seat.
Freddie opened an eye and looked at me, annoyed.
“I have to pee,” I said.
“Not my problem,” he said, closing his eyes.
I rolled my eyes. “I’m making it your problem,” I answered, pressing the button to lower the recliner.
“I’m surprised you are so eager to sit on me when it’s so warm,” I said, reclining my seat again as he pawed at me. “Just a second,” I laughed.
As soon as my legs were fully available to him, he climbed on them. “I had things to do today,” I told him.
“Me too,” he said, closing his eyes.
“Sleeping on me? Is that what you had to do today?”
“Yes,” he said, rolling so his chin pointed to the ceiling.
“Anything else?”
“No.”
I woke up, a little surprised that I had been sleeping. I was sweating again. Looking down, it was easy to figure out why.
“It’s too hot for this,” I told him.
“No,” he argued, covering his eyes with one paw.
“I can’t argue with that,” I shrugged. “You’re too cute.”
“Yes.”
“I need to get some stuff done,” I said, petting him gently. “I can’t sit on this couch all day.”
“Go back to sleep,” he advised, taking his own advice.
A dull headache pulsed behind my eyes. Too much sitting and napping had made me groggy and uncomfortable.
This did not seem to be a problem for Freddie.
Bracing my hands on the seat on each side of my body, I pulled myself into a more upright position.
Freddie sat up, blinking and confused, his fur sticking up on the side of his face.
“I can’t sit here anymore,” I said.
He blinked dully at me, then shook himself. “Okay,” he said, jumping to the ground and sauntering out of the room.
“That’s all it took?” I asked his retreating back.
Happy Caturday, Peeps! I confess that this entire diary is a lie. Freddie is beginning his ignore the human season as it warms up. It turns out that I’m the one pestering him.
