A Hero Needs Our Help! [1]

A young father and Army veteran needs your help! Sean Powell was deployed for two combat tours, the first to Iraq and the second to Afghanistan where he was stationed adjacent to burn pits containing toxic chemicals. Sean has survived colon cancer and is now in stage 4 of liver cancer. He needs a new liver.
The best thing about being a donor is that they only take a piece of the liver. The trick is in finding a match. So, we’re asking people to get screened at UVA (University of Virginia) or at Johns Hopkins. Here are links to sign up to get screened at UVA and JH and an app for Johns Hopkins:

I was curious about the screening process, so I want to share a few things I learned:
1.You must be 18-60 years of age to donate.
2.The screening process can take a couple of days, but donors can get compensated for transportation and lodging.

NLDAC can help eligible donors with travel expenses, lost wages, and dependent care costs.
3. Applicants must be in good health.
