Ukraine Invasion Day 1,192: continuing drone and missile strikes as Krasnov claims another '2 weeks' [1]

Russian forces conducted a series of drone strikes against Ukraine on the night of May 28 to 29.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 90 Shahed and decoy drones from the directions of Millerovo, Rostov Oblast and Oryol and Kursk cities. [83] The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Ukrainian forces downed 10 drones and that 46 were “lost” or suppressed by Ukrainian electronic warfare (EW) systems.[84] The Ukrainian Air Force noted that the strike mainly targeted frontline areas, which is unusual as long-range Russian strike drones typically target rear Ukrainian cities.

There are fears in Ukraine over Russia gathering a mass of bombers at the Olenya airfield. As many as 40 Tu-22M3s have been moved to the northern base in the last fortnight.

*As of 29.05.05, the Olenya airfield contained:*

- (3) Tu-95ms planes.

- (39) Tu-22m3 aircraft.

- (4) An-12 planes.

The Il-76MD transport aircraft left the Olenya airfield this morning. Additionally, a number of redeployments were carried out during the night:

- The first Tu-95MS aircraft arrived at the Olenya airfield with the Engels-2 airfield, already equipped with cruise missiles.

- (2) Tu-95MS aircraft left the Olenya airfield and landed at the Engels-2 airfield to be equipped with cruise missiles.

- Tu-22M3 strategic bombers are constantly redeployed to Shaykovka airfield in the morning, conduct training (it is possible that with the Kh-22 missile on board), and return to Olenya airfield in the evening. In addition, regular landings of transport aircraft are carried out at Shaykovka airfield. Also, the Russian tactics remain unchanged for the third time, Tu-95MS aircraft were transferred to Belaya airfield, but presumably not for the purpose of equipping them with cruise missiles, this is a personal opinion, but I cannot confirm it yet.

- In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy units tried to break through our defenses 39 times in the areas of Zorya, Popov Yar, Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novosergiivka, Udachne, Troitske and Andriivka. Five combat engagements have taken place so far.

Ukrainian troops have neutralized 341 occupants in this sector so far, 182 of them were eliminated irretrievably. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 14 vehicles, 11 motorcycles, two mortars, three Shahed UAVs and two personnel shelters. In addition, a tank, two vehicles and an enemy BM-21 multiple rocket launcher system were damaged.

- In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy attacked 21 times near the localities of Kostiantynopil, Bahatyr, Zelene Pole, Novopil, Vilne Pole and Novodarivka. Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped 19 attacks, two combat engagements are still ongoing.

- The aggressor attacked twice in the Orikhivsk sector, and fighting took place near Stepove.

- In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy conducted one offensive action, which was unsuccessful.

- In the Kursk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 11 attacks by Russian invaders over the last day, and ten engagements are still ongoing.

- In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.

*Today, it is worth noting the soldiers of the 105th separate territorial defense brigade and the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of the Transcarpathian region, who are steadfastly holding back the enemy.*
