I’m not proud to be an American
Where no one I know is free
And I won’t forget children were sacrificed
So the rich could be tax free
And I’d sadly lay down
Next to you and weep for liberty
Cause there ain’t no doubt the lady’s dead
God, Fuck the USA
US policy has gone from white savior complex to psychopathic rampage in the last few months.
I don’t know how else to frame the callous disdain for life being displayed by this administration. Because for every story of a child being cut off from the medical care that’s keeping them alive, there are a thousand more that we do not hear of. For every video shared of someone being grabbed off the streets, there are hundreds who disappeared without a trace, not even a video.
There are families whose loved ones never came home, who cannot go to the police, alert the media or make a noise, less they too be disappeared into the void of ICE’s camps.
The avowed Christians that have taken the reins of the governance of this country, seem to have read a version of the Bible not available to regular Christians, because in their versions it seems Christ was some kind of monster whose decrees were to :Torture the weak, starve the poor, kill the children, beat the homeless, cull the sick and hate thy neighbors. It seems their version of Christ isn’t one that gave his life to save humanity, but one that decimated humanity to pocket some coins.
Evil has been set loose upon this country in a manner I haven’t seen in my lifetime. People, even those who call themselves good, who claim to be on the right side of history are defending indefensible actions, and the bad guys? Well they are having the time of their lives drinking the blood of sacrificed children on the altar of greed.
It’s getting hard to tell friend from foe in this landmine of hate and betrayal.
