Welcome to the Street Prophets Coffee Hour cleverly hidden at the intersection of religion, art, science, food, and politics. This is an open thread where we can share our thoughts and comments about the day. Let’s start by looking at Fangs, Fur & Feathers: The Art of Animals, a special exhibit at the Northwest Museum of Art and Culture in Spokane, Washington.

According to the Museum:

“As more and more animals on the planet become extinct, museums are turning to taxidermy as a way to preserve ‘perfect’ species and their biological information. ‘Best of’ specimens are now the preference, rather than the old animal forms, which often contained pesticides like arsenic and were made from a single animal.”

Yes, there is a butterfly on the moose’s nose.
