Yes, it's true. The man who lives in Florida, but is a Senator for Alabama, wants to be Governor Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.

He knows X's and O's from his days as a football coach. What could go wrong?

Apparently he's been telling people on Capitol Hill that he was going to pass on re-election and go for the Governorship for months. Tommy announced it on Tuesday on a Fox News interview. Brian Tyler Cohen has the right take on it:

Everything BTC quoted is true. Tuberville is set to make things worse with things like the Ten Commandments on schoolroom walls, every student with a copy of the Bible. Stuff like that just to start.

I expect Pulitzer Prize winner Kyle Whitmire to continue his crusade proving that Tuberville doesn't live in Alabama. Things like he flies to Florida more than to Alabama, has properties in Florida, but sold all the ones in Alabama. Whitmire's latest call was for Tuberville's tax returns to put the matter partially to rest. There's also this little thing where he just voted in Florida. You can live in Alabama for one day and run for Senator. But you have to have lived in Alabama for seven years to run for governor.

Tommy is the man who couldn't define what a white nationalist was, he called them Americans. He continuously parrots Trump's talking points but very poorly, showing he has little grasp of anything. He also held up military promotions for 9 months because of the Pentagon paying for travel fees for women's health care. Didn't have to be anything about abortions. Just health care.

In 2020, after Trump's election Tuberville wrote on social media, "It's like the whistle has blown, the game is over, and the players have gone home, but the referees are suddenly adding touchdowns to the other team's side of the scoreboard. I'd challenge that as a coach, and President Trump is right to challenge that as a candidate."

Yes, he relates everything to being a coach. Why the people of Alabama thought that qualified him to be a senator is probably part of the reason about the facts that BTC listed.

Here's his new website: coachforgovernor.com. It highlights his fight against "woke" ideologies. It would probably be funnier than excrement if somebody asked him to define what woke is. He's against CRT and DEI. Like he really knows what those are either. The whole campaign website is an attack on those "radical left lunatics" Trump is so fond of saying.

Here's Tommy Tuberville's announcement on Fox News (X).

So, prepare for more fun and games as Tuberville is questioned about his qualifications, his voting record, where he votes and his residency. Prepare for long sequences of hemming and hawing. And the look of a deer in the headlights.
