We can stand our ground, but not move the ground
It’s out of our hands, we all understand
We’ve done our best, we’ve earned our rest

We’ve shown them the way, they stood in our way
We’ve told them the truths, they preferred untruths
We’re not welcomed here, we’re not welcomed there
let them see how they fare, when the fires flare

It’s no fault of our own, they are full adults grown
Their children’s cries, might open their eyes
Once the consequences, of their preferences
Make them bear witness, to their own distress
