Then she ran into this male, who was instantly all “Hey baby—come here often?”
They circle and check each other out
He approaches. The initial part of the mating ritual has him gently scratching her face and neck with his long front claws.
An intruder! Another dude is trying to chisel in on his girlfriend!
It’s no contest—the intruding male is much smaller and he quickly gives up and retreats
The victor goes back to his lady friend
He approaches for some face-tickling
Alas, that’s as much as I saw. They retreated from the open water into that thick patch of Water Lettuce, and I did not see them again. If he was successful, he would have tickled her face until she was receptive, then moved around behind her to climb on her back and do the deed.
