On 5/23 DT announced 50% tariffs on the EU and the major stock indices went down. Late yesterday 5/26, DT announce suspension of the EU tariffs until July with the market indices now up. Similar to what he’s done before.
You could make a lot of money if you had this kind of prior inside information. A simple way to do it would be to buy “put” options the day before the announcement (indices go down) and sell them the day before the announcement of the “pause”. Then turn around and buy “call” options the day before the announcement (indices go up). Normally, this kind of trading would be “noticed” by the SEC but DT’s SEC has no intention of performing it’s watchdog function especially against DT’s family and friends. Obviously, there are more sophisticated ways of doing this but this provides a simplified example.
Let’s take a hypothetical. DT jr, who now is heavily involved with a previously unknown hedge fund and Jared Kushner( JK) who “runs” a hedge fund primarily funded with 2 billion dollars of Saudi money (that’s a lot of money but represents just 2 days of Saudi oil revenue. It was done to successfully buy influence).
And let's just say this info was shared with them. The “hedge funds” would make a lot of money and attract even more money to their funds. DT would get his cut like any good mob boss and DT would “share” the info with people like Bondi and MTG just to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Normally, this would send up huge red flags to the SEC and then the DOJ but with both entities under complete DT control the risk of legal problems is basically zero
