Sunday Morning Open Thread with Music by Heart [1]

Good morning, crew. I admit, I didn’t get around to starting this diary until Friday evening. Heck, until Friday morning I didn’t have any idea of whose music I was going to base it on. Then officebss suggested the women of rock and roll. Of course, to me, the personification of women in classic hard rock are Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart. So how about we spend this morning with some of their music, both old and new? But first,

When I am assembling these diaries I usually don’t get this main text done until a few hours before publication. Half the time I have no idea what I am going to write about until the last minute. Tonight is no exception.
I only woke up this morning at around 1:30 AM. I have to wait at least a half hour after taking my thyroid pill before I can eat or drink anything. I didn’t get started cooking my breakfast until 2:00 AM. At that time, after I took my ADHD pill and had a gulp of my energy drink, I dragged my carcass out to the kitchen. While I was buttering the bread for a grilled cheese sandwich I heard something big slam the side storm door from the outside. This neighborhood is dead in the middle of the night. Well, okay, 2:00 AM is when the bars all close but there are no bars right here. No traffic, either. That ruled out any human intruder. So I went to the door and turned my outside flood lights on. Sure enough, it was my old buddy, the raccoon, waddling down the sidewalk. God, is he getting big. He probably outweighs my kitty Rogan and he tips the scale at 22 pounds. It’s hard to tell that raccoon’s weight, however, with his thick, lush coat. Don’t get me wrong, I think raccoons are pretty animals but they are much prettier when they are not banging on my back door.
I’m not leaving food out there. Nothing besides a case of V8 juice. I know raccoons have opposable thumbs but I don’t think this critter is smart enough to pop open a can of vegetable juice. Not yet, anyway. Come to think of it, maybe he’s just thirsty. I have been leaving a clean bowl of water out on my front porch for the stray cats. I didn’t refill it today. Maybe I should go do that now.
I know, I worry too much about the local wildlife but, the way I see it, they were here first.
That’s about it for my household. Now for a message from MOT’s management team:
Our prolific contributor P Carey has become an esteemed MOT emeritus, so there are slots available for bloggers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If interested contact officebss or Ozarkblue via KOSmail. Blank-slate diaries will fill in those unused slots in the meantime.
Now on with the music.
So what’s on your mind this morning?
