Harvard sues the Trump administration over unlawful ban on enrolling foreign students [1]

Harvard is not backing down from the fascist trump administration’s attempt to punish it and to make it bend over to trump’s demands. It today filed a lawsuit against the administration in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts over its unlawful ban on enrolling foreign students.

As one would expect from Harvard, the 71-page filing is very comprehensive.

It is the latest act by the government in clear retaliation for Harvard exercising its First Amendment rights to reject the government’s demands to control Harvard’s governance, curriculum, and the “ideology” of its faculty and students.

The suit is separate from the university’s earlier one challenging more than $2 billion in federal cuts imposed by the trump administration.

As you are aware, yesterday, the Trump administration revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students saying thousands of current students must transfer to other schools or leave the country. apnews.com/...

The Department of Homeland Security announced the action Thursday, saying Harvard has created an unsafe campus environment by allowing “anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators” to assault Jewish students on campus. It also accused Harvard of coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party, saying it hosted and trained members of a Chinese paramilitary group as recently as 2024. “This means Harvard can no longer enroll foreign students and existing foreign students must transfer or lose their legal status,” the agency said in a statement.

Each passing day, the lawless and out-of-control trump administration is telling us that they can lie and spread CTs, defy laws and norms, elevate white supremacists, defy Congress, defy courts, intimidate, extort and destroy lives with a stroke of a pen and there is nothing we can do to stop their dystopian vision for Amercia.

Let’s prove him wrong. Let’s make sure that the American people are paying attention and that they understand the consequences of these abhorrent and destructive policies.

Also, let’s keep reminding those who voted for trump and republicans or who did not vote at all - to be aware of how this is destroying their lives and livelihoods. Remind them to stand up for America, not for these dangerous fraudsters.

U.S. District judge Allison Burroughs has issued a temporary restraining order blocking the Trump administration from revoking Harvard University's ability to enroll foreign students, calling the order “unlawful many times over” and a "blatant violation" of the U.S. Constitution.
