One pediatrician was shocked when they told my not yet two-year-old son “this isn’t going to hurt” and I told them not to lie to my son. I told Nate, it’s going to sting and even burn maybe it depends on the vaccine. The pediatricians asked me why I would say “such a thing” to my son, that I’m going to teach him to be afraid of vaccines… I told her “I don’t care if he’s afraid of vaccines, I care that he learns that not all things that are good for you are pleasant, also I’m not teaching my son to lie”.
One does not have to love the democratic party, one does not even have to like them, hell one can hate them if they want, but it’s past the goddam time for united states citizens to grow up and learn that not everything that’s good for them is something they gonna like. Stop messing up life for the rest of us (and their own) because they want to be pampered and coddled.
I was hoping the election of this buffoon, and the ensuing chaos would be a wake-up call to some people, but no, four months into this disastrous administration, and they are still trying to unload their responsibility unto someone or something else. Grow the eff up.
Search your local government for upcoming election and if they are electing a janitor – vote
Set up reminders of upcoming local and state elections
If your children are over 18 – get them registered and get them voting
If you’ve had a change of address – make sure to follow up properly
If you need a birth certificate, start looking now and do what you gotta do
If you live in an apartment building – a community spread the word - organize
If you live in an affected area – gather the community and make sure everyone has the basics
Study up on what your local and state governments can do
Heck, organize civics study groups like they do bible studies
Organize some sort of emergency plan for your neighborhood (phone tree / safe words / help codes)
Check on the elderly and those that live alone frequently have a rotation system
See what free or cheap services are available in your community and share it
In other words help each other out.
Oh learn to cook damn it
The stronger the bonds of your community, the better you’ll be able to get through this. No, it’s not going to be easy, but you got way more resources than other countries and if they can survive so can you.
