Happy Friday! Hopefully I will be around to moderate and not in the hospital. If I do go in, I’ll text Mort, and/or Nizz will be in to let you all know.
I know you all want kitten pics, so I have some for you, as well as some other pics of different things that are new to the house. I don’t have one of my solar generator yet, I haven’t had the energy or air to set it up yet. All I need to get for that rig is an outdoor extension cord, one of those long orange ones, so I can run it into the house post-hurricane. I’ll get one on the 1st. So far as I know there’s no storms out there yet. We could use a tropical storm right now, we’re in drought.
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

So meet Sir Lionel. We took the name from Quest for Camelot, and because her other cat’s name is Lancelot. It seemed appropriate. He’s adjusting well, the two cats are playing together, though Sir Lionel stays in his new cat playpen (similar to the one Lyta and Ivonova used to have) when Bit is at work. We go in and release him and let him play periodically through the day, between me and Draco.
Lionel on Bit’s lap on her bed.
Bit found Lionel along a busy highway hiding in a bush and mewing for help. He’s probably between 8-10 weeks old, maybe as much as 12. We don’t know how he got there, and so far we haven’t found anyone looking for him. He was a little underweight, but not badly, so someone dropped him off after he was weaned, or he escaped someone within the last week. But he’s adjusted well, and he’s very cuddly and playful.
This is Lancelot. He’s a cuddle but and a little bit jealous of the kitten at times.
Lancelot is adjusting too, and he seems to like Lionel well enough; he just gets jealous when Lionel gets attention. Lancelot is used to having Bit to himself. Yesterday, he stole her computer mouse and dunked it in the water dish. So we (hopefully) picked up a new mouse during our grocery shopping trip today, and I’ll order her another good mouse when I get my check.
He sure is a cutie though! He doesn’t bite hard enough to hurt or break skin, and he keeps claws in.
The dogs got a new thing too. I had to figure out a way for the pups to tell me they had to go out. Sure, I could keep taking them out every 3 hours, but I don’t always have the air or energy for that. So, I decided to try a button. This one came with a doorbell sound, but could record a message. So it says, “go outside?” They took to it right away, and it’s working out great so far. The only issue is when they’re wrestling with each other and run into it by accident LOL. Please don’t mind the dirty walls, wheelchairs and dogs. I clean them about once a month, but it hasn’t been on my priority list between breathing issues and fibro flares.
It’s a nice big button, and they are picking up really quickly to push it to go outside.
Another thing I got is an electric scooter, so that if we go out to Petsmart or Ross Bit doesn’t have to push me. And, so that I can sometimes go by myself. There are sidewalks all along the way, and they’re pretty well taken care of. And it does run on grass if needed. When we took it out for the first time, there were some issues, like the battery overheated because it was 98 degrees out that day. So, Bit has dubbed her Christine.
Stewie has taken some of the letters off the front. I want to take him for a walk, but it’s been too hot.
I got an early birthday present from my mom. For her birthday I gave her a copy of Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, because I knew she would enjoy it. She’s now reading the 6th book in the series, so I guess I was right. I’m reading them too of course, so she decided to get me some merch for my birthday. Princess Donut is a cat, who, in normal times was a prize winning show cat. Now, she has magical abilities, can talk, and is partnered with Carl to get through the dungeon to save Earth. They are both Dungeon crawlers. So mom got me this pillow:
Princess Donut with a Dirty Shirley
The pillow says a quote from the books:
Carl: :Cats don’t drink alcohol Donut. “
Princess Donut: “They also don’t shoot laser beams out of their eyes, but here we are, Carl.”
I hope you enjoyed the diary and have a great weekend! I’m breathing a little easier (at the time of this writing, on Thursday) so keep your fingers crossed that continues.
