ABC wants "The View" not to have one [1]

The hosts of "The View" haven't been told to censor their speech, but they have been asked to tone it down. Is that any different?
According to the Daily Beast, Bob Iger, Disney CEO, and ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic, have suggested they focus less on politics and more on celebrity interviews.
The move was not framed as an edict, one source said, but the suggestion alone ranked the hosts.
Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farrah-Griffen and Ana Navarro have been hosting the show now for several years, a decade for Whoopi. It's their talk and balanced view of politics that their viewers want.
Again, according to sources, the panelists responded in kind, "Isn't it gonna look kind of bad if we're all of a sudden not talking about politics?"
"The View" is the ratings leader of day time talk shows and news programs in 2025, but Trump's threats can have a chilling affect.
One source said, "Bob Iger writes a check for $15 million and then the FCC opens an investigation into DEI. What are they thinking? If anybody could stand up to Trump, it's Bob Iger, and he already decided not to."
Karamehmedovic met with the show's producer, Brian Teta, the make the request.
It's apparently not the first time ABC executives have pressured talent. Jimmy Kimmel was approached in 2022 to change his lines about Trump and Jimmy told them he wasn't going to change even if they fired him. Why they would do this in 2022 when Trump wasn't in office and not even running for president yet is beyond me. Obey in advance. At that time, of what?
What will be interesting is what the hosts say today about the Ramaphosa meeting with Trump yesterday in the Oval Office. You can be sure that they all will say how bad Trump was in treating President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa. No news agency is passing on a report about it. Most of them calling it an "ambush" like with Zelenskyy. But it wasn't. Trump tried as best he could to get Ramaphosa to lose his cool, but instead he showed he was the statesman, and Trump, the fool.
Griffin commented last Friday that, "This table spends a lot of time criticizing Donald Trump and a lot of it is very valid and really needs to happen, but it's a fact that his approval rating is 39%. However, the Democrats is 27%. People felt gaslit and lied to."
She does have a valid point. But that won't stop them from mocking Trump officials like Kristi Noem, who rightly deserve it. Trump just creates one liners every day for the late night comedians.
I predicted that when ABC gave in for George Stephanopolous calling Trump a rapist, when a judge said that was the case, that it was only the beginning for ABC. It goes back to last year when the presidential debate moderators fact-checked Trump, especially on the Haitian immigrants eating cats, eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. He's never going to forgive or forget that. Now the FCC is investigating Disney and ABC for DEI. When they are made to pass muster for DEI, there will be something else. Like what law firm do they use? What political contributions have they made to Democrats? What animation is done overseas subject to the 100% tariff on foreign films? The list of crimes will be endless. That's what Trump does.
The hosts of "The View" have so far been able to keep their integrity. I hope when the story gets wide dissemination that viewers let them know to keep at it.
Because you have to stand up to Trump or else he will come back for more.
