This charge of antisemitism makes a mockery of what antisemitism is. [1]

Really?
Yair Golan, president of the Israeli Democrats party and former deputy military chief of staff, was accused of antisemitism for condemning Israel for 'fighting against civilians' and 'killing babies as a hobby.'
I have written about how the charge of “antisemitism” is being abused on an industrial level. It has become laughable and has demeaned the horrific loss of life during the Holocaust.
The vile attack by Hamas on October 7th allowed Netanyahu and his religious zionist extremists, with the unconditional/unquestioning support of the US, to make their dreams come true; they grabbed it with both hands. Netanyahu to cling to power and the Kahanists free rein to terrorise and endeavor to eliminate Palestinians from a land they do not wish to share. If you do not know what their intentions always were: Database exposes 500 instances of Israeli incitement to genocide in Gaza, they were also the recent cause of the EU and UK to: UK pauses trade talks and EU reviews relationship with Israel, as pressure grows on Netanyahu to halt Gaza siege.

A leader of the Israeli left is being vilified for criticizing the army's tactics in Gaza — LeMonde
The statement sent shockwaves through the Israeli political world and sparked a flurry of responses, reflecting the taboo broken by a prominent figure in the Israeli military and political sphere. On Tuesday, May 20, Yair Golan, 63, head of the left-wing opposition and former deputy military chief of staff, called out the army and government in an unusually direct statement on a public radio channel: "A sane country doesn't engage in fighting against civilians, doesn't kill babies as a hobby and doesn't set for itself the goals of expelling a population," said the president of the Democrats. His party, formed in 2024 from the merger of the Israeli Labor Party and Meretz, two historic pillars of the Zionist left, holds four seats in the Knesset.
When 17,000 children have been slaughtered, questions need to be asked, as it is also a very ineffective measure in eliminating terrorism.
"Israel is on the path to becoming a pariah state among the nations – like South Africa once was," said Golan, who gained national renown for his heroism on October 7, 2023. The retired major general, who remains a reservist, had grabbed his rifle and helped rescue survivors of the massacre carried out that day by Hamas (1,200 killed and 250 taken hostage).
The truth hurts, as anyone not subjected to propaganda can see. Throwing around charges of antisemitism at anyone who dares to criticize the actions of the Israeli Government is self-defeating. The reality is that the real antisemites [there are plenty] are given cover. Oh, they can stand behind Israel, alright, without being asked why.
Just watch Trump, every time he accuses someone of doing something, it's the next thing he will do. [Re: Hunter Biden]. Same illogic.
It seems to be the current trend in whataboutism.
Yair Golan spoke a truth that is uncomfortable to the Israeli ear. That is the most accurate explanation for the attack on MK Yair Golan from nearly the entire political spectrum, from the extreme right to the moderate center, in the wake of his remarks on Tuesday.
