First we had THIS NEW BOOK.
And now we learn that on Sunday, Biden was diagnosed with what The New York Times reported as an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer that had “metastasized to the bone.” I had a family member die of that disease; it is a cancer that develops slowly. Why was all this kept from the public? I think you know why.
“… we had all seen him aging. We had all seen him tripping and misspeaking. We had all seen evidence of decline, but the Biden team, family and senior advisors were telling everybody, not just media and not just the public, but also Democratic donors and members of Congress: "He's fine. He's fine. He's fine." — Jake Tapper.
In the opinion of TNR’s Michael Tomasky, “The blame rests with the values system that liberalism and the party have inculcated. Promoting people because of gender or race is fine. More than fine. It’s necessary and admirable. But using gender and race to help stop a conversation that everyone knows is desperately necessary is wrong.”
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, an oncologist and bioethicist who is the brother of politician Rahm Emanuel and talent agent Ari Emanuel, said “Oh, he’s had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading.” He continued, “We don’t know [how many years], obviously, and it is a little surprising to many of us oncologists that he wasn’t diagnosed earlier,” Emanuel said, noting that a regular prostate exam would have very likely caught the cancer.
Surely PSA antigen is included in the routine blood test? If I know mine, which I do, surely Biden did, too? Why was no action taken? Was it that:
1. Biden was already suffering dementia to the point of being unable to evaluate his own medical results and those around him decided to say nothing?
2. Biden was told, knew about it, and decided to ignore it? Which leads me to wonder if he knew, why would someone suffering the symptoms of prostate cancer decide to run again? It IS possible though unlikely; I asked a doctor: “Sometimes the first presentation of prostate cancer is metastatic disease — no prior urinary complaints.”
I guess we’ll find out sooner or later. It doesn’t seem to me that all this reflects well on the leadership of the Democratic party.
