Something about the republican bill you should note…
the Medicaid cuts don’t happen now. They happen 4 years from now.
this is designed to satisfy the 10 years that are used to estimate the deficit reduction.
but for trump, no one will experience these Medicaid cuts over the next years. So voters will not notice.
it aLso sets a bomb for the next president. A candidate will be asked, “will you allow the Medicaid cuts to go forward?” A democrat would have to say no, but then what?
republicans think they are clever and maybe they are. No one has used such deceptive unethical approach to budgeting before.
Of course it will also set a new precedent. The next administration would have to use such a technique or else they would be disadvantaged. This will further push the nation into a debt crisis. These famous republicans deficit hawks are really deficit chickens.
