The Palm Springs Bomber Was a Nihilist. [1]

There’s a diary up about the Palm Springs bombing, but when last I visited it, none of the updates to the diary itself, as yet, indicated that
the bomber is now known,
died at the scene,
left a manifesto,
and was apparently a virulent nihilist.
This may have changed while I was writing here; if so, my thanks to that diary’s author. It’s very hard to keep a diary current while also interacting in comments.
To be clear, all of that information is in the comments section, but I couldn’t find links to sources, and my Aspie brain went nuts trying to find and piece together a coherent narrative from the fragments.
Well, I often remind people here that they have agency and can do things, rather than just telling someone else to do them! Talk, meet walk.

A suspect was self-identified as 25-year-old Guy Edward Bartkus, a citizen of Twentynine Palms, California. Bartkus described himself as a pro-mortalist, saying people did not give consent to exist in his manifesto. He reportedly left a 30-minute audio recording in which he explained his reasoning behind the attack. This paragraph is footnoted to the BNO News article below.

These are people who are having kids after they’ve sat there and thought about it. How much more stupid can it get?”

Alex Plank, who is Aspie [as am I] and founded Wrong Planet, has a TikTok channel, “the planker”. Alex found the perp’s website and provides a brief digest. He concludes the perp was incel-ish in terms of ideology, though [as he says] said perp does not claim that label, because of how the perp describes self and motives. He does note that the perp referenced the Sandy Hook shooter, and I wish he’d said more about that.

Alex Plank, in my experience, is not much for wild speculation. Nothing sensationalistic in his TikTok. His citing of the perp’s reference to the Sandy Hook shooter is upfront and morally brave. As an Aspie myself, I worry that people are going to go medieval, stay there, and “come after” us — since most people are pretty damn medieval to start with, and even around here we see that peeping through from time to time.

I notice that people are doing the usual, speculating all over the map and trying to make the bombing about whichever group of people they most enjoy hating.
So here’s the best information I could find. I’ll update this if and when I find decent YT videos, which I did not yet search for.
I didn’t actually plan to be diarying this at all, but I’m tired of watching The Hate Show.
