We had clouds and a gentle rain yesterday. We got the rain only one day after I sprayed my tiger lilies with neem tree oil. I’m trying to prevent them from being gobbled up by red lily leaf beetles yet again this year. I found and crushed a couple pairs of those bugs while I was spraying my plants last Friday. I hope yesterday’s rain didn’t wash all the oil off them. In any case, they are going to need another spraying today.

I also still haven’t finished planting all my pumpkins. I found the bag of seeds I temporarily lost. Maybe I will have time to get a few pumpkins before this year’s first Autumn freeze. The garden is going to take a lot of fertilizer. That’s okay. I bought fifty pounds of 17-17-17 granular earlier this year. Canada’s tariff on potash won’t effect me.

My greatest wish is for a warm-up. Our low temp is forecast to be in the mid 30s tonight. That’s obviously too cold for tomatoes. Maybe it will be warm enough to transplant my seedlings, oh, about this Saturday.
