I’m not stressing out quite so much over the news, so my blood pressure is better than it was. I’ve also been exercising a bit more than I was, so my pulse rate is down, too. Yay!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Here’s something from Democracy Docket, about how much power we actually have.

Well, according to my chiropractor, my new insurance isn’t paying for anything; but on the other hand, under the old one, I was already paying almost all of it anyway.
I did get the reimbursement for the April payment through PERS — I changed my insurance before UHC realized that canceling their contract with OHSU would really do a number on their bottom line, but after the time it would have registered in the PERS system so as to not be charged for April.
My daughter has been driving my grandson to school before going to work. It seems he’d been playing hooky, though I don’t know for how long. I told the kids quite some time ago that they wouldn’t be able to put much over on their mother because she’d done most of it herself and would recognize the signs.
The cashier’s check is on its way to my niece. I don’t know how much more time it will take to get my mother’s estate settled — I thought I heard something about they’ve found one more thing. We will see, I’m sure.
One of the companies I occasionally buy supplements from sends out nutritional information rather than advertising emails. A couple of the more recent ones: Earl Grey tea (love the stuff) is good for your heart; sweet potato leaves are good for you, too.

Love you guys!
