Trump's Message of Corruption in Qatar [1]

Qatar is an ally of the New Syrian regime. Syria has been pleading to deaf ears for Trump to lift the sanctions and recognize the new post-Assad government for months. Trump did nothing until Qatar bribed him with a 400-million-dollar private jet personal gift...after which he immediately announced he would lift Syrian sanctions.

This is important to illustrate because it once again proves that Trump can be made to do anything, be made to believe anything and give any concession to anyone as long as he is bribed with a large enough sum. World Leaders know it, businessmen know it, and everybody who has deep enough pockets knows they can get anything they want from the Trump administration if they give Trump enough cash.

This has been and will destroy our global popularity, presence and reputation as an honest broker of peace that at least tries to stand up for something. Already China has surpassed America in global popularity, and it won't be long until real concrete alliances follow.

In the short term, this is blatant corruption but in regard to the long-term health and security of the United States, this is one link in a chain that will hold us back for decades before the damage can be undone if it can be undone at all. The ‘City on a Hill’ that was the United States is dying and it's being replaced with an oligarchic tyranny enslaved to the highest bidder.

I support lifting sanctions on Syria because it is what is best for the people of that nation, it is what gives the world an open door to protect marginalized communities at risk of ethnic cleansing, and it is best for American interests; but how things get done matters as much as what gets done. I do not believe that Trump evaluated the merits of supporting the new Syrian government, I don’t even believe that our regional negotiator Steve Witkoff (a billionaire Russian puppet with no negotiation experience charged with bringing peace to the middle east) made such an analysis. To me and the many other commentators out there, it is blatantly obvious that it wasn't until the Gulf Petro-State of Qatar brought Trump into their nation and offered him hundreds of millions of dollars in personal gifts that Trump even considered helping the new government which took power in early December of 2024 (before Trump took office) and first reached out to Trump through Turkish delegates the same month he took power.

In the 150+ days since Trump had the opportunity to help the new government, he turned a blind eye and didn't even condemn or comment on the Israeli invasion of Syria and instead let Netanyahu steamroll their entire southern border killing hundreds. Now we are supposed to believe that right after a private jet is ‘donated’ to Trump by Syria’s biggest backer we are going to do a complete 180-degree turn in policy? Of course not, the only thing that we should take away from this news is that Trump is little better than a street corner prostitute selling the body of America to the highest bidder as openly and as blatantly as possible so that he can attract even more customers no matter the caliber of clientele be it Russia, Israel, Qatar, Elon Musk, Tim Cook or anybody else so long as their pockets are deep enough.
