They call it treason, Mr. Trump [1]

Trump is visiting Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. Conspicuously missing is a stop in Israel.
Saudi Arabia is still on the hook for their institutions and moneyed individuals for 9/11. During Trump's first term, all US intelligence agencies pegged Mohammed bin Salman for the murder of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi. The purported method has been speculated and it's grisly. Tuesday, Trump said in Saudi Arabia that, "I'd do anything for the crown prince."
UAE is used by all sorts of Russian shell companies to operate their shadow fleet of oil tankers, circumventing US sanctions since the Ukraine war started. The US has had good relations with UAE, with their active role against extremists. At least that's what we've been led to believe.
Qatar is the special case, made even more special with their grift gift of a golden 747 to Trump. Before that, they were just the financiers of Hamas. Over the years, Qatar has sent $1.8 billion to Hamas. In actual consultation with Israel and the US, $30 million a month was being sent to Hamas. Qatar has been home to Hamas top leadership so communication could happen since 2011.
All of these countries are funding new hotels, resorts and golf courses with the Trump name on them. Eric and Don Jr. made the rounds in these countries before Donald came to visit. Today, Trump said Saudi Arabia was going to invest $600 billion in the United States. He didn't say for what. It could be a Trump bribe that dwarfs the plane. Saudi sovereign wealth fund already has $2 billion invested in Trump's World Liberty Financial. Trump holds $22.5 billion in tokens at the current price.
Wednesday, the DNC is going to have a plane flying over Mar-a-Lago with a banner saying "Qatar-a-Lago."
DNC Chair Ed Martin described why. "Today the DNC is highlighting what foreign autocracies around the world already know: Trump has no loyalty to the American people, national security, or the Constitution --- his only allegiance is to his bank account and his billionaire buddies. Whether it's billionaires at home, or governments abroad, Donald Trump won't hesitate to sell out America's working families to the highest bidder."
This morning, Trump's staff are flooding Trump's Truth Social account with posts defending Trump and even one that compares Qatar's gift of the plane to the United States accepting the Statue of Liberty from the French. Laughable, but it's their latest tactic to show nothing is wrong with it, when in order for Trump to use it would require billions to turn it into Air Force One, and that work wouldn't be finished before Trump left office. It's a bribe. The last wrinkle in this trip is Trump calling for a nuclear deal with Iran. He's 7 years too late. He canceled the JCPOA in 2018 with no alternative in place to allow the IAEA to monitor Iran's uranium enrichment. So, what did he do? Blame it all on Joe Biden, saying he turned his "back on the Gulf allies."
"I want to do a deal with Iran. I want to do something if it's possible, but for that to happen, it must stop sponsoring terror, halt it's bloody proxy wars, and permanently and verifiably cease it's pursuit of a nuclear weapon. They cannot have a nuclear weapon."
It's too late to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. They most likely have one ready to go. They've had seven years to enrich uranium to weapons grade, and to build it. They just haven't done underground testing, which would be picked up on a seismograph.
The only tool he's got are the economic sanctions, but that hasn't stopped their ability to generate income with the "ghost fleet" of oil tankers. Do they even care about sanctions when they've been able to get away with circumventing restrictions for 7 years?
Iran has already responded to Trump's comments claiming innocence for their part in the mideast turmoil.
Taking sanctions off of Syria after the regime change may be good. Trump informed the Israelis before he did it. Turkey's President Erdoğan seems to be happy with the idea. What happens to the Kurds, now?
Trump wants to expand the Abraham Accords. Signed in 2020, the Accords had the UAE and Bahrain formally recognize Israel and their right to exist. Any expansion would be good.
But Trump is not taking a stop in Israel. Trump can't unilaterally sign for them. We'll just have to wait and see.
In the meantime, Trump has already sold us out to the Saudis with a Trump Tower in Riyadh, and a residential tower in Jeddah.
In Qatar Trump will have his Trump International Golf Club and Villas, with an 18 hole golf course. Once again, neither Trump or his organization have to put up any money, just collect licensing and management fees.
Trump already has the Trump International Golf Club, Dubai, but there is a lot more coming. A $1 billion, 80 story Trump International Hotel and Tower built by Saudi Dar Global real estate company, as are the other projects.
The Qatar plane is just the tip of the iceberg of corruption for Trump. He is selling us out to the highest bidders. He's doing it right out in the open, thinking no one can stop him. The Democrats put a hold on Justice Department nominees to gain attention and get some answers about the plane.
This doesn't say anything about all his other bribes, including multiple cryptocurrency schemes. Why does Trump need to do $1.5 million a plate dinners? The money isn't going to the Republican National Committee, it's just lining Trump's pocket. He's only got two cases that could take money from him so far. The $88.3 million he owes to E.J. Carroll on her defamation lawsuits, and the $454 million he owes the State of New York. Trump MAGA idiots are trying to say Letitia James committed real estate fraud, to obfuscate Trump's crimes, when she did nothing of the kind. Lawyer Abbe Lowell has put out the receipts to prove so. But now, with various schemes, especially the cryptocurrencies, he has the money to pay off those debts. But Trump will keep fighting on appeal until some judge says the dodging is over, pay up.
Trump doesn't care about the 9/11 connections to Saudi Arabia. It's in the past. It's fine for MBS to kill journalists. Part of running a dictatorship. Saudi Arabia has been the first stop in trips in both of his presidencies. We just don't know what he did in in 2017. We know a lot about now, because he doesn't care if we know he's corrupt.
Qatar figured out what to do with a plane that the emir stopped using in 2020. It's just been sitting on the tarmac in Qatar ever since, until it was flown to the US so Trump could take a look at it. Trump was impressed, even though it's an older design 747 and more expensive to fly. We all know his gold fetish got the best of him.
This is Trump's defense this morning:
From Truth Social.
Donald Trump sold us out for a sparkly object. He put plans in action to rake in money without spending a dime. This whole trip has nothing to do with diplomacy. It's a business trip.
And we paid for that, too.
Normally, one thinks of treason as an individual in a time of war giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Here, there is the war on terror, and Qatar, Iran and Syria have been at the forefront of it.
Trump wants that deal with Iran. Syria is suddenly a good guy. Trump just met with the leader of Syria, al-Sharaa, and called him an "attractive," "tough guy," and a "very strong past." Why does this sound like another autocratic admiration society meeting? We know little about the new government. Or what happens with the Kurds, who Erdoğan did not like, but who were fighting against Assad's forces.
Maybe calling Trump guilty of treason is over the top. But selling out your country for money has happened many times, and they weren't just traitors, they were found guilty of treason when there wasn't an actual war going on. Like people who sold the U.S. out during the cold war. Or back in 2022, an ex-Navy nuclear engineer would have sold US submarine secrets for cryptocurrencies. He wasn't charged with treason, but he could have been.
Here's the U.S.C. Code for treason. You decide whether Trump is guilty.
But, he is most certainly a traitor.
