Politico: Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy said there’s “no doubt” that former President Joe Biden suffered cognitive decline in office and that it would have been better for the party if he hadn’t run for reelection. “There’s no doubt about it,” said the Connecticut senator when asked by POLITICO if Biden experienced cognitive decline as president. “The debate is whether it was enough that it compromised his ability to act as chief executive.”
If President Biden was being well-advised, he wouldn’t be on a “legacy repair” tour. It’ll be bad for him (raising prior questions about his ability to serve a second term) and its bad for a Party trying to rebuild itself.
President Carter didn’t mend his reputation by going on TV. He did so by organizing the Carter Foundation and Habitat for Humanity and establishing a new public reputation.
